I've decided to give goodreads a try. I'm hoping it will help guide me to new books that I'd enjoy reading. I already have quite the must read list going right now, but it never hurts to stumble across a new one, right?
I go through phases with reading. I'll go a couple of months without reading a single book, but then other months I will devour books as if it's my job. Right now I'm in a heavy reading phase.
I have a second generation Kindle that I have always loved. It's been pretty good to me the last several years. The downside now is that I have to prop up the charger in just a way to get it to charge at all, and it loses battery quickly. Other than that, it has worked great and treated me well.
But alas, I have found something new and improved that I really, really, really want. After countless hours of researching stats, specs, reviews, etc., I have decided that I need a Kindle Fire HD in my life. That will be my next present to myself. Next pay day if I am able to, which I hope.
Isn't she beautiful?!
So what have I been reading? Well I just finished all 5 books of the Percy Jackson series, and I really loved them! I didn't know anything about the gods, but I quickly caught on. They were fun and easy to breeze through.
Last night I started on the Emily Giffin book I forgot I purchased back in July. Oops. That was a fun surprise to find on my Kindle! I'm almost halfway through, and I'm really enjoying it. I'm a big Emily Giffin fan and have read all her work. Any time she releases a book, I immediately buy it. Same goes for Jen Lancaster and Sophie Kinsella.
Once I'm done with Where We Belong, I'll read Divergent. It comes strongly recommended. I really have no idea what the series is about, but I had no clue what I was getting into with The Hunger Games series either, and that worked out wonderfully!
Naturally, I will read Insurgent after.
Then, while I wait for the third book in the series to come out, I will read another strongly recommended book. Again, no real clue what it's about, but I've heard great things from friends that I trust.
After those will come the Jen Lancaster books that I have pre-ordered. I know one of them will be available in January, but the other won't be out until much later.
What are you reading? Anything I should add to my list?

I just finished The Dark Tide by Andrew Gross. I really enjoyed it! I'm trying to branch out and read more non-fiction and other genres, so I just started a book about Hurricane Katrina. I'm about 20% in and not really loving it. :(
I have a 2nd gen Kindle, too! Mine's still going strong, though. No plans to replace it anytime soon. I love the Kindle because you can always find new titles to read for free. Cuz I'm super cheap.
Ok. This comment has gotten LONG! But, I'm on GoodReads, too. In case you wanna be friends there. :D
I really want to ready the Percy Jackson books. Maybe that should be my next series?
I've heard good things about Gone Girl, but I'm mostly too lazy to actually find out what it's about.
